SHE MARCHED THEM UP TO THE TOP OF THE HILL.......!
On Saturday we had our first annual 'company ramble' which took place over 10 miles on and around Box Hill in Surrey. Working on the premise - as always - that fit in body means fit in mind, the company ramble was intended to fitten us all up. Judging by the aches and pains being expressed this morning, there is quite a way to go!
In previous years, the hardy amongst us have been training at this time either for the Great North Run Half Marathon or the New York Marathon, but as we left it too late to get entries in the Newcastle race this year we decided to do our own thing. And also because this is more inclusive, there was NO excuse for not coming along!
Memorable sights included the lovely Ruth (aka DooDah) keeping up appearances and wearing her pearls, Helen, our finance supremo showing us all how to roll down Box Hill (not as much fun as you remember when you were a child!) Callum striding out all day in his Hunter wellies, Hannah's shoes disintegrating, Mel and Henry sloping off for the odd fag or two, Soph's fab rocky road treats, Charlie - the eldest unmarried son - clutching two bottles of wine and corkscrew for a snifter at 10am and Tom - Suzanne's boyfriend and our friendly marine commando - marching ahead looking exceptionally fit in his combat shorts doing expert map reading!
But no one had more fun than Nellie!
